Weekend Morning Reads | No. 01

Weekend Morning Reads | Rachael Adele Lifestyle Blog

Happy weekend, friends. I thought I’d start sharing the occasional post on what I’m reading around the interwebs. I begin most Saturday mornings curled up with a cup of coffee, catching up on articles I didn’t have the time to read during the week in an attempt to wake myself enough to head to the gym.

What are you up to this Saturday? I have some consulting work and photo editing to wrap up this morning and then it’s all play from here on out. The temps are finally supposed to rise to 70 degree today (phew!). Does that mean spring is here for good? Patio margaritas are on the agenda over here. I’m hoping to see Beauty and The Beast at some point, too. Dying of excitement.

Here are a few morning coffee links:

12 recipes for when you don’t feel like cooking (ugh. me, every night.)

This article isn’t new, but I found it so interesting. Whether your single or attached, this is a great read on what creates a successful relationship.

J.Crew has created their own holiday and I plan on celebrating accordingly.

Admittedly, I’ve been searching for the perfect pieces to pack for Paris for over a month now. My trip isn’t until the end of April, so I’m probably jumping the gun, but I’m thinking lots of easy pieces like this dress and this one.

Spring cleaning is upon us. I did some organizing and purging this week and have been thinking of refreshing my space with a new rug for the dining room, a coat of white paint in the bathroom, and some new art in the living room. Serena & Lily is having their friends & family sale and I may try to knock a few things off my list this weekend. Use the code MUSTHAVE for an extra 20% off.

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve updated the shop page with my favorite spring pieces. Home + beauty to be added soon.

Jenna Kutcher’s podcast, The Goal Digger podcast is one of my favorites to listen to, and the episode with Jess Lively (who’s podcast I also love) really struck a cord in my heart this week. They discuss how most people wait for an event to trigger their mood and frequency each morning, but ultimately that can and should be decided by you. It’s made me want to be more intentional about how I start my day. Being kind to yourself and choosing happiness can make all the difference. The episode is full of other incredible nuggets of knowledge, I’d highly suggest a listen when you have the time.

A few more noteworthy sales happening:
West Elm: 20% off with code SCORE
LOFT: Up to 40% off
Joie: Up to 25% off

Hope your weekend is full of all the good things in life. xo

The Best of the Shopbop Sale

The Shopbop Buy More, Save More sale started yesterday, it’s the perfect time to collect a few new pieces for spring! With the code GOBIG17 you can save up to 25% off your purchase. My birthday is next week and I plan on using this as an opportunity to gift myself something nice. 😉

I already bought a handful of pieces yesterday that I’m really excited to receive. I got these mules in the prettiest shade of pink and this tee because you can never have enough white t-shirts, in my opinion. Can we talk about how fast Shopbop’s shipping is? It brings me a lot of joy. It’s the little things, guys.

I live in my Ray-Bans and a bunch of them are on sale, including the classic aviators and wayfarers.

The Club Monaco trench coat that I own in nude has already sold out, but this one looks really similar. If it’s anything like the one I have, it’s the softest coat EVER and is the most beautiful color.

My Madewell transport tote is well-made and well-used. I take it to work with me almost every day and it travels well, too! Such a good bag for the money and comes in 100 colors, you can find them all here.

A few items I still have my eye on…

The ruffle trend is something I didn’t think I would get behind, but my closet is slowly filling up with these light and feminine pieces. This top would be so cute with white denim and slides.

I’m seeing a lot of cropped denim and I’m in need of a different length than my typical skinny jean this season. I’ll forever be a Levi’s girl and love this pair. I’m also a huge fan of these skinnies, but I need another pair of jeans with giant holes in the knees like I need a hole in my head. *Adds to cart anyway*

I want to live in these joggers.

I’ve been pinning a lot of dresses lately. This one is currently in my cart – would be perfect for baby showers, bridal showers, or my trip to Paris this spring! I wore this dress to a wedding recently and got so many compliments.

The raffia platform on these oxfords make them the perfect mix of classic and casual.

The trend pages are brilliantly curated collections that I love browsing, my current favorite being the Everyday Essentials because comfy tees and denim forever and ever, yes please.

Mother’s Day: A Gift Guide

It’s almost that time to celebrate the mamas in your life. I’ve always felt that Mother’s Day is a pretty special holiday. My mom (like many) is a selfless lady and rarely asks for anything from us kids. We’re close, her and I, and I love the opportunity to give her something pretty, luxurious, something that she wants but would never buy for herself.

This time of year is such an ideal time for a holiday such as Mother’s Day, don’t you think? The weather is usually the perfect shade of spring, fruit and florals are abundant, and it’s prime brunching season. In the past it’s fallen on the same weekend as a local neighborhood art fair, and since I can remember, that’s been one of our favorite things to do together.

I’ve put together a list of gifts I think would be perfect for spoiling any mama out there.

Shop the guide
Herbivore Body Polish | Gemstone Bar Necklace | Longevity Book | Rose Post Earrings | “Dear Mom” Porcelain Tray | Leather Wallet | La Brisa Throw | Sleep Set | Floral Seed Collection | Rose Gold Watch | Spa Mask Trio

And psst…If you live in Kansas City, Velvet Crate has put together a Mother’s Day box complete with an insanely gorgeous bouquet of flowers from The Vintage Petal – easy, thoughtful, and local.
